Workplace illnesses and injuries continue to decline

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported on October 27th that workplace illnesses and injuries continued to decline in 2015.  The current rate of 3.0 total injuries per 100 full-time workers compares favorably with 3.5 injuries per 100 workers in 2010, and 4.6 injuries per 100 workers in 2005.  It is the lowest rate of workplace illnesses and injuries since modern recordkeeping requirements were instituted in 2002.

Injury and illness rates remained highest amongst mid-sized employers with 50-249 employees, and lowest amongst small employers with 10 or less employers.
