Friday, March 13, 2012 —

What’s your sign? This one gets to the point No Parking signs in Allentown, Pennsylvania, are, to put it mildly, full of personality. To combat universal ignoring of no parking signs, the sign below appeals to both the morals and the wallets of parking motorists. The sign reads, “Don’t even THINK of parking here. You will get a ticket and be towed. What if someone else were here & you wanted to mail a letter [?!]”

Woman taken to hospital after hitting sign This week continues its marathon of ridiculous and weird with a story first reported this morning by the Morris Daily Herald. Apparently a woman on her way to a Morris, GA Driver Services Facility — Georgia’s equivalent of the Department of Motor Vehicles — needs to gain some major facility in her driving, as she rammed into a Reserved Parking sign in the DSF’s parking lot.  The airbags in the silver Ford Mustang deployed, and no serious injuries (except for a wounded pride) were reported.  Happy Friday, everybody.

The past four months alone have seen 1,258 citations for speeding and driving under the influence. Given the relatively few accidents along the ICC, officials are considering raising the speed limit upwards of its current 55 mph.
