In doing so, the symbol is meant to portray disabled persons as real individuals, not lifeless stick figures.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2026\" title=\"Traditional handicap parking symbol from MyParkingSign.com\" src=\"https:\/\/www.smartsign.com/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Image-2-15.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>The original international accessibility symbol (via <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.myparkingsign.com\/ada-state-signs\/handicapped-symbol-sign\/sku-k-2493-a\"><em>MyParkingSign<\/em><\/a><em>).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The duo graffitied the symbol\u2019s maiden voyage in a parking lot of <a href=\"https:\/\/triangle-inc.org\/\">Triangle, Inc<\/a> in Malden, MA. The symbol was created to denote handicap accessible facilities and products. The symbol can be seen nearly everywhere, most notably on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.myparkingsign.com\/handicap-parking-signs\">handicap parking signs<\/a>\u00a0required by the Americans with Disabilities Act. \u00a0With enough attraction, though, it\u2019s a possibility that this forward-thinking new symbol will have the potential to spread nationally or even internationally.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; N.
