Today, CCTVs and Video Surveillance equipment are used to monitor people by recording any suspicious activity, prevent crimes before they take place, and to gather evidence to inspect a scene of crime.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>While CCTVs are a valuable investment when the nature or the frequency of the crime is high at a particular area, street, property etc, it is not necessary in places when there is no cause for any real danger. Besides, CCTVs and Video Surveillance equipment costs a lot and are not always affordable. Moreover, if your idea of security is to prevent crimes from taking place in the first place, CCTV Signs are the answer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysecuritysign.com\/video-surveillance-signs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CCTV Signs<\/a> are a cost-effective way to deter potential criminal activity. You may not be able to afford a fully equipped surveillance system so you can just install a CCTV Sign to alarm opportunistic criminals and keep them from entering your property.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysecuritysign.com\/video-surveillance-sign\/parking-lot-under-video-surveillance\/sku-k-4509\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"Video Surveillance Sign\" src=\"https:\/\/images.mysecuritysign.com\/img\/md\/K\/Video-Surveillance-Parking-Sign-K-4509.gif\" alt=\"Video Surveillance Sign\" width=\"135\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>Even though installing a sign would help to secure your property, it is not a foolproof security measure since many criminals could find out that there are no cameras installed after closer inspection. Nonetheless, displaying a CCTV sign on the border of your property can deter criminals who cannot view the premises over the hedges or gates. Also, in countries like UK and Canada, it is mandatory that you put a clear and easy-to-understand notice about the use of cameras on-site.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where should you install a CCTV Sign?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysecuritysign.com\/video-surveillance-signs\/activities-being-recorded\/sku-k-4174\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CCTV warning signs<\/a> should be positioned at places where they can easily be seen by anyone who passes by your property. Ideally, signs should be placed within normal eye range and in areas with adequate lighting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A CCTV Sign should be installed where it does not affect the movement of pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Imagine bumping into a sign pole while being taped. Talk about a moment made for the TV show Candid Camera!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A house owner may install the sign near the main gate, security gate etc. so that it can be viewed by people while entering or thinking to enter your property.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A CCTV installed at a commercial property should have signs installed at the access point of the area that is being monitored.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Warning Signs, and in this case a CCTV warning sign, should not be erected too far in advance of the area under video surveillance. Installing signs further than from the monitored area makes people forget about the sign and can also create confusion regarding the actual area under surveillance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>At what height should you install a CCTV Sign?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is no rule or regulation in respect to the exact height at which a CCTV Sign should be placed. However, the general idea is to install it at standing height and within the eye range.
