SmartSign Moves to 13,000 Square Foot Office at 1 Pierrepont Plaza

Forest City Ratner Companies announced the ten-year lease on October 30, 2014

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK, December 18, 2014 – Forest City Ratner Companies (FCRC) announced that SmartSign.com, a fast-growing internet company, plans to move its headquarters to 1 Pierrepont Plaza in January 2015. The ten-year lease is for 13,000 square feet on the 13th floor. SmartSign was represented by Brian Weld of Cassidy Turley.

Blair Brewster, SmartSign’s CEO, said, “With an internet-savvy, multilingual workforce, Brooklyn is the ideal place for our headquarters. This gorgeous new space represents our commitment to Brooklyn, and will allow us to consolidate our operations.”
The company celebrated its fifteenth year in business at the beginning of 2014. Rapid expansion with an average growth rate of 22% per year and a worldwide workforce of 100 prompted the company to move to a larger space. The new office includes expansive conference rooms; breakout areas; a library for reference, regulation and specification materials; a waiting area for visitors and potential new employees; and a server room.
First New York Management (FNYM), a subsidiary of Forest City Ratner, oversees 1 Pierrepont Plaza. With over 100 operating engineers and professionals, FNYM caters to some of Brooklyn’s most prestigious corporate tenants. SmartSign joins Morgan Stanley, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, and the Mount Sinai and WESTMED teams.
Ali Esmaeilzadeh, Vice President of FCRC stated, “We are proud to welcome SmartSign to One Pierrepont. This exciting company is another example of Brooklyn’s leadership in creating technology and innovative enterprises.”
In addition to SmartSign’s C-suite, the building will house the customer service, sales, marketing, IT, and product management departments. For the first time, the company will have a dedicated photography and video studio to craft informative content for customers.
Going forward, SmartSign hopes to expand the customer service, product management, and social departments. With over one million customers, the CEO also has his eyes on international expansion.
“Would we ever leave Brooklyn? Forget about it!” exclaimed Brewster.
