There are two basic design types. The ANSI label designs follow Z535.4. Recently this standard has been accepted by OSHA. ANSI Z535 designs are increasingly popular. The other design is the “Traditional” OSHA designs – these have been in use since the 1940’s and remain the most popular for safety signs and safety managers that want to create a consistent look for their signs and labels.
