New Proposal for Hazardous Waste Recycling by EPA

Environment Protection Policy (EPA) has re-examined its 2008 definition of Solid Waste (DSW) rule. It will now have a better impact on public health and environment. It will increase the accountability and control on recycling of hazardous materials. Few changes made were-

Rule one divides the companies depending on the recycling power onsite or offsite.
Facilities that recycle the waste within the same company or onsite under regulatory environment should maintain a record and they should have better storage capacities as compared to the 2008 rule.
Companies that send their hazardous waste offsite for recycling should have personalized storage abilities. They should also have permission to send hazardous waste for recycling.

Next rule requires all forms of hazardous waste recycling to meet the regulations and requirements that guarantee legal recycling of hazardous waste.

The changes will ensure better management of hazardous waste and it will increase the accountability and responsibility for recycling of hazardous materials.
